Personal Bio

Mr. McArthur was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and grew up in Largo, FL which is located near Tampa Bay.  He started playing saxophone in the 5th grade after joining the band and was hooked on playing music ever since.  Mr. McArthur graduated from Seminole High School (Links to an external site.) where he was a part of this amazing award-winning band program.  Moving out west for his degrees at The University of Arizona he fell in love with the dry climate, mountains, and living in an area with so much nature available for hiking.  In Tucson, Mr. McArthur studied music and the instrument he loves to play, the saxophone.  In 2001, he moved to Las Vegas to begin his teaching career at Chaparral High School and then Basic High School.  In 2008, UNLV called and asked him to teach saxophone at UNLV and built an amazing studio in which several students have gone on to have successful careers as both performers and educators.  He is now the band director at Escobedo Middle School where he has been since 2018.  Mr. McArthur performs with The Soul Juice Band (Links to an external site.), a funk, soul,  and jazz band that frequently plays on the Las Vegas Strip, and the Music on the Brainz Band (M.O.B. Band) (Links to an external site.) playing R&B, Gospel, and smooth jazz.

Mr. McArthur is married to his beautiful wife Rochelle McArthur and has a dog named Harley.  He enjoys hiking, using his smoker BBQ to create amazing meals, cooking, movies, video games, and geeking out on technology.  Mr. McArthur and his wife also enjoy playing and singing music together at church.
